Kodi 19 „Matrix“: Alpha 3 ist da

Mit der Kodi 19 Alpha 3 haben die Entwickler eine neue Vorabversion von Kodi 19 „Matrix“ bereitgestellt, die mutige und neugierige Nutzer ab sofort ausprobieren können. Es soll die letzte Alpha-Version sein, bevor Kodi 19 in die Betaphase geht.

Mutige Nutzer, die gerne Vorabversionen ausprobieren und sich nicht ärgern, wenn es noch Probleme gibt, können ab sofort die dritte Alpha von Kodi 19 auf dem Amazon Fire TV oder auf dem Amazon Fire TV Stick testen. Rund vier Wochen nach der Veröffentlichung der Kodi 19 Alpha 2, soll die Alpha 3 nach den Plänen der Entwickler die letzte Alpha-Version sein, bevor Kodi 19 in die Betaphase geht.

Auch bei der Alpha 3 stellen die Macher klar: Es gibt immer noch Fehler. Schließlich sind die Alpha- und die Betaphase in der Software-Entwicklung dazu da, Fehler sowie Probleme aufzuspüren und sie für die finale Version zu beseitigen. Für die Mediennutzung im Alltag ist die Alpha-Version von Kodi 19 deshalb noch nichts. Wer Kodi regelmäßig nutzt, sollte deshalb weiterhin auf Kodi 18.9 zurückgreifen.

Kodi 19 Alpha 3 steht unter mirrors.kodi.tv/snapshots/ zum Download bereit. Die richtige Variante für das Ausprobieren auf dem Amazon Fire TV oder einem Amazon Fire TV Stick ist die Android- und ARM-Version. Die Installation klappt wie gewohnt per Sideloading.

Music Library

• Small fixes to album duration for music in unusual folder layouts, and triggering rescraping of a single artist or album.

Music Videos

• Fetch related album and artist info (including art, bio, review etc) from the music library where appropriate
• Display all music videos for an artist, not just the ones related to an album when navigating by artist
• Searching from the info dialog for an artist now includes all of related library albums as well as any videos
• Possibility to use .nfo files so that the artist list can now show all performers from music videos, not just the main artist
• Info dialogs will display data from the music library where there’s a corresponding artist and/or album
• Fix the same director search for music videos

Playback

• Correct the colour mapping of HLG HDR playback in SDR mode on Windows 10
• Add HLG HDR playback as HDR10 on Windows 10 (as Windows does not support passthrough of HLG)
